I met Taber in the spring of 2008. I was assigned to photograph her for The New York Times for a story about invasive text message spam. Before I made a single photograph, she told me she had seen some of my documentary stories and was really moved by them. "Would you ever photograph a wedding?" she asked. Taber wasn't planning hers, but she had just met a guy. That guy was Andy, and seven years later, I got the call that they were getting married. "Are you available in August?

I was.

They wanted to do a first look at Christopher Martin's, the pub where they had their first date. From there, we drove to Battell Chapel at Yale University for their ceremony. Afterward, we made photographs on the Yale campus and then walked to ROÌA Restaurant and Cafe for their reception. The night was electric and charming. Andy sang Sinatra tunes and drank homemade moonshine from a mason jar on the dance floor. They ended the evening by walking down Chapel Street, stopping to make portraits along the way before going up to The Study at Yale, a hotel with beautiful accommodations. They wanted a fun picture of Andy carrying Taber across the threshold, so we did that too! Congratulations, Taber, and Andy. I'm so glad we met all those years ago.
