Friend weddings are good for the soul. Josh's mother, Cathi, is a friend and my old officemate. I've gotten to know Josh, his sister Moriah, and Cathi's better half — Larry, over the years. Sometime along the way, I started hearing more and more about Kate. At the office, Cathi would often mention she thought they would get engaged. "You should photograph the wedding," she'd say.

Well, I did, and it was beautiful.

Kate got ready at her childhood home, which was meaningful to her. Her parents, Patty and Ken, will soon put it on the market.

They married at Castle Hill Farm, and there wasn't a shortage of emotion. Larry, Josh's Dad and a former Pastor, opened the ceremony with a lovely benediction about marriage and Kate and Josh's relationship. Then Ken concluded the ceremony, marrying them off. Later, Jesse, Josh's best man, couldn't get through his vows. He was too emotional and later handed me his phone to read his speech, but you didn't need to hear or even read his words to feel what Josh meant to him.

The final act of the evening brought everyone out to the dance floor, where they cut it up and ended the evening with some joyful dancing.
