Julia and Jongmin met in grad school while earning their Ph.D.s in biology from Stanford University. When Jongmin moved to Boston for work and later returned to the Bay area to finalize his Ph.D. lab, their relationship changed from friendship to something more. After many, many hours of FaceTime calls and significant contributions of their paychecks to JetBlue over the years, they are now happily together.

Their wedding was held at a beautiful estate on 60 park-like acres in Brimfield, Massachusetts. They planned to take advantage of the sprawling property, but it rained, confining the festivities under a tent and away from the lush grounds. There is often a delicate act of letting go and flowing with whatever happens on a wedding day. The change in plans didn't dampen how this small multi-lingual group, some who traveled from Germany and others from Korea, interacted and celebrated this lovely couple.

Julia and Jongmin, thank you for inviting me into the inner circle with your families. I'm grateful for the moments I witnessed.
